House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was ready to walk away from her longtime post in Congress had Hillary Clinton won the presidential race because Obamacare wouldn't be at risk of staying intact, Roll Call reports

"If Hillary had won, I was ready to go home," Pelosi said. "If she were there, then I would not worry about that."

President Donald Trump campaigned on the promise that he would repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, a process GOP lawmakers have already started. House Republicans last week introduced a replacement bill, but the legislation has been criticized by both sides.

Pelosi last Tuesday sent a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan demaning to know the contents of the bill.

"Members must not be asked to vote on this legislation before the CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation have answered the following questions about your legislation in 2018 and 2019, over the 10-year budget window, and in the decade after: How will this bill measure up to the Affordable Care Act and current Medicaid law on coverage, quality, and cost?  And how will it impact Medicare solvency," she said.

Pelosi also said Democrats wouldn't vote for Trump's healthcare plan, saying it would lead to "the 400 wealthiest Americans getting a tax break of $7 million per year."
