Billionaire financier for conservative causes, Paul Singer, says he will not endorse Donald Trump in his race for the presidency, nor will he support the likely Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton.

Singer, a New York City hedge fund manager, created a national conservative donor network rivaling that of the Koch brothers, as well as backed Marco Rubio's presidential campaign, according to The National Review.

The financier called for conservatives to “stand up for what we believe, which is not embodied by either choice on the menu in November” at a dinner hosted by leading free-market think tank, the Manhattan Institute.

The New York Times noted that Singer believes both Clinton and Trump to be unacceptable choices because they show “signs of philosophical, policy, and political exhaustion.”

Singer mentioned that both candidates’ campaigns focus on outrage instead of issues, calling their strategies “the politics of anger and nostalgia, of visceral responses.”

Regardless of the outcome November eighth, Singer expressed hope for the future, saying he believed conservatives would rise from the “difficult time” of the 2016 elections.

Singer has also been active in support of other conservative causes: in April, his American Unity Fund launched a website urging North Carolina lawmakers to repeal North Carolina’s anti-gay law, according to the News and Observer.
