Obama Says He Needs to Act Quickly on Big Problems

WASHINGTON -- Afghanistan. The banking crisis. Health care. The ailing economy.

President Barack Obama says if he had his preference, he would deal with each of those issues one at a time.

It could be Afghanistan now, then banking a little later _ maybe health care a few years down the road.

But Obama told CBS' "Face the Nation" in an interview broadcast Sunday that he doesn't have that luxury of time, because the American people don't have that luxury.

He says people need to be kept safe now. They need health care help, now. They need the economy back on track, now. They need to educate their kids, now.

Obama says it's important that his administration work as hard as it can so people can live out the American dream.
