A Melania Trump speech highlights the opening night of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on Monday, The Hill reports.

The goal of the convention is “to help the American people understand more about Donald Trump the man, not just the candidate they see on the campaign trail," Trump’s campaign manager Paul Manafort said at a press conference.

He added that Trump will make several appearances during the convention, although it is not clear if he will be there to attend his wife’s speech.

Others who will speak on the convention’s first night are retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, Jason Beardsley, special operations adviser for Concerned Veterans for America, and Montana Rep. Ryan Zinke.

USA Today reports that the convention’s program includes many non-traditional speakers for such an event and has remained in flux until the last moment, something very unusual for what is normally a highly scripted event.

Each night of the weeklong convention, concluding with Trumps’ nomination acceptance speech on Thursday, is devoted to a different theme, with the opening evening called "Making America Safe Again."

The Democrats put out a fake speaker’s list for the Republican convention which includes the numerous prominent Republicans who will not give an address there, including former president George W. Bush and former presidential nominees Mitt Romney and John McCain.
