Lawmakers want to question Donald Trump Jr. following revelations he had a meeting with a Kremlin-based lawyer during the 2016 presidential election, The Hill reported Tuesday.

The House and Senate are conducting separate investigations into Russia's election interference, and members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Senate Judiciary Committee, and House Intelligence Committee want Trump Jr. to testify about the details of his meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya, who offered him damaging information about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said Trump Jr. should testify before her group because it is clearly "the committee of jurisdiction."

"This is aired on front page newspapers; it should be aired front page [in the] United States Senate," she said.

But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said the Senate Intelligence Committee has "ball control," and committee members Sens. Richard Burr, R-N.C., and Mark Warner, D-Va., had his confidence.

The committee has already requested documents from Trump Jr., according to Reuters.

Warner said his panel should definitely hear from Trump Jr.

"This was part of a Russian government effort to discredit Clinton and help Trump," he said. "So all of these denials that we have heard . . . they're all patently false. It makes the investigation all that more important."

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., wants Trump Jr. to make an appearance before his committee, too.

"These participants are all going to have to come before the committee," Schiff told MSNBC. "We're going to have to try to obtain any relevant emails and documents."
