Democrat Sen. Mary Landrieu has been targeted by Republicans who have launched a website attacking her husband's real estate dealings.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee's site, Landrieuforsale.com, links the Louisiana senator to deals conducted by her spouse Frank Snellings, implying the couple has gained personal financial benefit on the back of her political influence on the Senate Appropriations Committee.

"The questions raised by these lobbyists to Landrieu transactions are very serious," NRSC spokesman Brad Dayspring told The Huffington Post, describing the site as "Phase 1" of a multi-part offensive against the lawmaker.

The Huffington Post discovered earlier this year that a significant number of Snellings' clients in his real estate practice were top lobbyists on Capitol Hill with ties to Louisiana politics, some of whom have also contributed to or hosted fundraisers for Landrieu.

Snellings' clients include Democratic super-lobbyist Tony Podesta, former Louisiana Democratic senator turned lobbyist John Breaux, Comcast lobbyist Melissa Maxfield, and former Louisiana Democratic congressman turned oil industry lobbyist Chris John.

To date, there has been no proven wrongdoing, according to The Hill, and a spokesman for Landrieu said the senator and her husband consulted with the Senate Ethics Committee on Snellings' real-estate work are complying with all rules.

Republicans believe Landrieu, who was elected in 2003, may be one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the 2014 election cycle.
