Ohio Gov. John Kasich has written a book detailing the themes of his 2016 presidential campaign, according to The Washington Post.

"Two Paths: America Divided or United" will be published April 25. In the book, Kasich aims to draw a contrast between his vision for the country and President Donald Trump's.

The publisher stated that Kasich, in the book, examines "ramifications of living in a post-truth environment."

In an excerpt provided to the Post, Kasich said Americans must focus on working together.

"We've got to recognize that the very real problems facing this country cannot be ignored. We cannot be confused or distracted by bitterness and rancor. We cannot allow exclusion to take the place of inclusion," Kasich wrote.

The Ohio governor has written three other books: "Courage is Contagious," "Stand for Something: The Battle for America's Soul," and "Every Other Monday."

Kasich failed to win the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, but was President Donald Trump's last remaining opponent, the Post reported.

He weighed in Sunday on Trump's immigration ban in a Post interview where he called the executive order "ham-handed."
