Ex-CIA Adviser: Sessions Should Make Trump 'Man-Up and Fire Him'

A former chief of staff at the CIA turned analyst for NBC News had a message for attorney general Jeff Sessions — "don't quit . . . make the president man-up and fire you."

Jeremy Bash, former chief of staff to Leon Panetta at both the CIA and the Department of Defense, accused President Donald Trump of trying to "Twitter-shame" Sessions into quitting.

Bash made the comments — aimed at Sessions — on NBC's "Today" show on Tuesday.

"Don't quit. I think he should make the president man-up and fire him. If the attorney general wants to stand his ground, he should be entitled to do so," said Bash, a senior national security analyst for NBC News.

"It's astounding — the president of the United States is online bullying the attorney general. He's trying to Twitter-shame him into quitting his post," Bash told "Today."

"What the president is really trying to do is say, 'Sessions, get out of the way so I can put in my own attorney general who will fire Bob Mueller and shut down this Russia investigation,'" Bash said.
