Jeb Bush is once again showing generosity to fellow GOP candidates, donating more than $117,000 from his two political action committees, both named Right to Rise, to lawmakers in several states, The Washington Post reports.

Bush stole a bit of Rand Paul's thunder Tuesday as he announced his donations just hours before Paul took to a Louisville hotel to make official his own 2016 presidential bid.

Among those lawmakers receiving Bush's largesse — between $2,600 and $5,400 apiece — included Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Roy Blunt of Missouri and Johhny Isakson of Georgia. Also receiving support were Virginia's Ed Gillespie, who may make a 2017 gubernatorial bid, as well as members of Bush's Florida GOP cadre, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Mario Diaz-Balart and Carlos Curbelo, the Post said.

April marks the second month that the former Florida governor has helped seed Republican primary campaigns with PAC funds. The Post noted that he also gave about $122,000 in donations in February.

Bush announced the formation of his leadership pack in January, CBS News reported, calling it a first step in advance of his likely presidential run.

Said Bush: "We're setting up the Right to Rise PAC which is a PAC to support candidates that believe in conservative principals to allow all Americans to rise up."

Bush took the phrase "right to rise" from Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan. He was so taken with the phrase that he used it in an op-ed he wrote, describing it as a "core concept of economic freedom," CBS reported.

Wrote Bush: "Think about it. We talk about the right to free speech, the right to bear arms, the right to assembly. The right to rise doesn't seem like something we should have to protect. But we do. We have to make it easier for people to do the things that allow them to rise. We have to let them compete."

The full list of this month's recipients was outlined by the Crowley Political Report.

"I'm proud to support conservative leaders who are dedicated to expanding economic opportunity for all and restoring America's place in world," Bush said in a statement announcing his second round of contributions. "The Right to Rise PAC will continue to aid candidates who want to restore the promise of America with a positive, conservative vision of reform and renewal."
