George W. Bush once famously said his critics "misunderestimated him," and his father regrets saying "read my lips" before raising taxes.

The Bushes have a way with words that is not lost on the latest generation.

Take George Prescott Bush, the 38-year-old son for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and nephew and grandson of the two President Bushes.

His gaffe was to answer a question honestly when asked Sunday if he thinks his father will run for president in 2016. "More than likely," he replied, forcing his father to start backpedaling.

Jeb Bush, who insists he has not yet made up his mind on a run for the White House, might as well have said, "Kids say the darndest things."

On Wednesday, Jeb Bush told MSNBC, "He’s got an opinion. He didn’t talk to me."

"When you have kids you’ll probably have the same frustration," he added. "You love them to death, and they have their own opinions, but I’ll make up my mind just as I’ve said at the end of the year."

The elder Bush sounded a bit more like a candidate later that evening when spoke at a rally in Colorado for Republican congressional hopefuls. He criticized Hillary Clinton for claiming that businesses don’t create jobs.

"The former secretary of state who was campaigning in Massachusetts where she said, 'don’t let them tell you that businesses create jobs,'" Bush said. "The problem with America today is that not enough jobs are being created, they are created by businesses, where people’s incomes rise, where they can live a life of purpose and meaning independent of government. That should be the mission."
