President Donald Trump will aim to give Republicans a boost in a contested Georgia runoff, The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.

Trump will hold a fundraiser for GOP congressional hopeful Karen Handel during his visit to Atlanta this Friday. The cost to attend the reception is $2,700 per person and $5,400 per couple, and a host sponsorship will cost $25,000. The event is being held at 2:30 p.m. at an undisclosed location.

Handel is running against Democrat Jon Ossoff, a 30-year-old fundraising superstar who nearly won last week's special election outright to represent Georgia's 6th District in the House of Representatives. He missed the majority vote by less than two points in a race many thought would easily be snagged by a Republican, as the district has long been a conservative stronghold.

The race has been nationally covered, and Trump last week inserted himself into the discussion by tweeting Ossoff would "be a disaster in Congress" and "very weak on crime and illegal immigration, bad for jobs and wants higher taxes."

The runoff is June 20.
