Former ‘Bachelor’ Firestone Serves as Delegate at GOP Convention

Andrew Firestone, the third man looking for love on ABC’s “The Bachelor” reality series, is a delegate representing California at the Republican convention.

Firestone’s father Brooks was once a California assemblyman and his great grandfather founded Firestone Tire and Rubber.

"I think probably the difference between politics and 'The Bachelor' is the fact that the candidates in 'The Bachelor' are a lot better looking," Firestone told The Sacramento Bee. "But probably just as stressful as well."

This is Firestone’s first-time around as a delegate. Presumably he’s a Mitt Romney delegate, though The Bee didn’t specify that.

He says he’s excited about seeing Romney’s acceptance speech Thursday night and hopes it will rouse the Republican base and offer all voters specifics about how he can revive the country with his ideas and business savvy.

"I don't think anybody denies that this country is going in the wrong direction, and we want a plan," Firestone said. "We want a direct idea of how it's going to be put into place to get us going in the right direction."
