A fourth of Republican voters in three primary states on Tuesday say they cast their ballots against other candidates rather than for the person they voted for, according to exit polling by Fox News.

Here's how those numbers looked:

My vote mainly against other candidates:
  • Connecticut: 24 percent
  • Maryland: 25 percent
  • Pennsylvania: 18 percent
That sentiment was mostly voiced by supporters of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, according to Fox News' Martha McCallum. While Cruz and Kasich voters were more likely to say they voted against other candidates, almost all of front-runner Donald Trump's supporters voted specifically for him.

Among those who said they would not vote for Trump if he is nominee:
  • Connecticut: 25 percent
  • Maryland: 26 percent
  • Pennsylvania: 22 percent
More than half of those who voted for Kasich or Cruz said they wouldn't vote for Trump.

In Connecticut, most late deciders went with Kasich:
  • Kasich: 39 percent
  • Trump: 35 percent
  • Cruz: 16 percent
As for Democrats, most said they give front-runner Hillary Clinton the best chance of beating Trump in November. Here's how they broke down by state:
  • Connecticut: 63 percent
  • Maryland: 73 percent
  • Pennsylvania: 64 percent
Here's how Pennsylvania GOP voters rated the issues:

Most important issue:
  • Economy/Jobs: 38 percent
  • Government spending: 24 percent
  • Terrorism: 24 percent
  • Immigration: 11 percent
Worried about the economy:
  • Very: 58 percent
  • Somewhat: 34 percent
  • Not too: 6 percent
  • Not at all: 1 percent
Policy toward illegal immigration:
  • Legal status: 52 percent
  • Deport: 45 percent
Temporarily banning Muslims from entering U.S.:
  • Support: 71 percent
  • Oppose: 25 percent
