Leading conservative pundit Erik Erickson believes "growing conventional wisdom" points to President Donald Trump lowering the boom on press secretary Sean Spicer or Chief of Staff Reince Priebus — but he says it's National Security Adviser Mike Flynn who should be axed.

"As we are seeing, despite Flynn's claims to the contrary, he was fired as the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency for his disruptive and chaotic management style, not because he spoke truth to power," Erickson writes on TheResurgent.com.

Erickson also notes reports that Flynn lied to Vice President Pence about the nature of his conversations with Russia while Barack Obama was still president — a potential violation of federal regulations.

"[Flynn] must be dealt with ruthlessly and forcefully," Erickson says.

He adds that Spicer should be reassigned to be Director of Communications, "where he excels. Day to day press dealings is not his specialty."

As far as Priebus, "before the President shakes up the management of his office, he ought to at least allow his Chief of Staff to manage it."
