On the night his father formally sealed the GOP nomination for president, Donald Trump Jr. had the crowd at the Republican National Convention standing and shouting in agreement as he ticked off a list of things his father would do as president and contrasted him with Democrat Hillary Clinton.

As Trump said his father would be a president who secured the borders, improved education, made the tax code fair and more, the crowd punctuated his sentences with "Trump!"

Trump's eldest son said his father will continue to defy the odds and win the presidency just has he has beat expectations his whole life. Trump's candidacy was initially seen as having no chance, the younger Trump reminded the crowd.

He spoke of how he and his siblings were taught on construction sites, not by people with MBA's, but "from people who had doctorates in common sense."

Trump promoted some of those people to top jobs based on their abilities and "street smarts," even though other executives had passed them over because they had not gone to fancy schools.

Donald Trump Jr. attacked the Democratic Party for catering to teachers rather than students, placing burdensome regulations, such as the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform act, and attempting to regulate guns.

Hitting Clinton on the Benghazi and email server scandals, Trump said, "If Hillary Clinton were elected, she'd be the first president who couldn't pass a basic background check…. Hillary Clinton is a risk Americans can't afford to take."
