Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump met with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger Wednesday to discuss foreign policy issues.

According to NBC News, Trump's motorcade arrived at Kissinger's apartment building around 3 p.m. The meeting lasted for about an hour.

Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, and the 92-year-old Kissinger, who worked for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford as national security advisor and secretary of state, have talked on the phone several times, NBC reported. Trump apparently requested the pair meet in person.

Last week, Trump met with James Baker, who served as secretary of state under President George H.W. Bush.

Kissinger said in December he would urge Trump not to ban Muslims from entering the U.S.

Trump is likely trying to bolster his foreign policy chops as he steamrolls toward this summer's Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
