Videos of a deposition taken of Donald Trump this summer were released Thursday night, and in them he defends his past comments about Mexicans.

The wide-ranging deposition, which is broken up into two videos (here and here), was for a lawsuit Trump filed against celebrity chef, Geoffrey Zakarian. The chef initially signed a lease to open a restaurant in Trump's new hotel in Washington but backed out, citing Trump's comments on illegal immigration and Mexicans last summer

Trump is now seeking $10 million from Zakarian for breaking the contract.

The topic of illegal immigrants "is a topic that has led to my nomination in a major party in the country," Trump said during the deposition. "It's not a very out-there topic."

Zakarian was just one entity that broke ties with Trump in the wake of his comments. He was asked during the deposition if he had any concern over this.

"I'm a big boy, I understand," Trump said. "I've been making these statements for many years. When your client signed his lease, my views were out there very, very strongly.

"I've been very consistent, I've been very strong on the things that I said for years."

Asked if he felt the media misinterpreted his comments, Trump replied: "Perhaps so. I think the media's very dishonest. But all I'm doing is bringing up a situation which is very real, about illegal immigration. And most people think I'm right."
