D'Souza: Trump in Better Position Than Judge to Determine Threats

Filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza Monday cast doubt on a Seattle federal court judge's stay on President Donald Trump's executive order on immigrants from seven Middle Eastern countries, saying the president would likely be in a better position to evaluate potential harm.

"Remember, the president gets a daily national security briefing," the "Hillary's America" filmmaker told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program. "This judge sits in his chamber. He reads law books, so his real job is to hold up the order, hold up the Constitution, and comnpare the two side-by-side."

D'Souza said a side-by-side comparison would show Trump's order isn't unconstitutional, and the weekend stay shows how judges "are now exceeding their jobs and doing things that they are not in a good position to know."

One of the first tasks of a new president is to "fumigate the house and bring in his own guys," D'Souza continued, and he understands there are conservatives who are uncomfortable with Trump challenging the judges.

Trump attacked U.S. District Judge James Robart in Seattle for placing a temporary stay on his executive order on Twitter, calling him a 'so-called judge' who could be blamed if there are attacks after his ruling.

"Remember, the [system of] checks and balances goes both ways," said D'Souza. "If the federal judges are supposed to be a check on presidential overreach, there's nothing to say that Trump can't be a check on judicial overreach. So it's checks and balances cut in both direction."

Meanwhile, there is a problem going on in which people are being paid to wage protests, said D'Souza, unlike in the past, "where there was no sense that someone was actually giving them money to go out and burn a car or a store. So, to me, this is driven by people like George Soros. I call it sort of venture hooliganism, because Soros is putting money behind these guys and saying go out and cause trouble."
