A Democratic House member reportedly chided GOP presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump for his "short fingers" in a tirade about the real estate billionaire's controversial strategy on taking advantage of a housing market "bubble burst."

Working in the provocative taunt recalls a similar jab from Florida Sen. Marco Rubio during a presidential debate in March. Nevada Rep. Dina Titus demanded Trump apologize for the callous advice, The Hill reports.

"He rooted for that bubble to burst," Titus railed, The Hill reports. "Well, the crash in the housing market devastated my hometown of Las Vegas, which was one of the hardest hit in the country."

Trump's business strategy was laid out in a 2007 Globe and Mail story, in which he was reportedly advising investors about "great deals in buying subprime mortgages at a discount, and repossessed houses at low prices."

"People have been talking about the end of the cycle for 12 years, and I'm excited if it is,' Trump declares, the newspaper reported. "I've always made more money in bad markets than in good markets."

Titus worked in the small-hands jab in her concluding remark, The Hill reports.

"We say to Mr. Trump: Keep your short fingers out of the Nevada housing market," she said.

The personal dig comes a day after Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton released an ad making similar points about Trump taking advantage of a real estate bust — but Titus' remark earned her a counter-punch from Illinois GOP Rep. Rodney Davis, who was presiding over House floor proceedings, The Hill reports.

"The chair would remind members to refrain from engaging in personalities toward presumptive nominees for the office of president," Davis said.
