Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh predicts President Barack Obama will "try to create all kinds of unrest and disunity" once President-elect Donald Trump takes office Jan. 20.

During his national radio show Tuesday, Limbaugh also lashed out at cable and network news personalities who will likely be happy to give Obama the media platform.

"Obama's gonna call [NBC's] Chuck Todd, take his pick, [CNN's] John King, [CNN's] Wolf Blitzer, take your pick, he can call any of them, 'Hey, you know what, I want to go on TV, grant an exclusive, Trump's about to destroy Obamacare,'" Limbaugh predicted.

"And they will not be able to wait," he added. "They'll give Obama as much time as he wants to rip into Trump and to warn the American people."

"Obama's gonna be doing national speeches, the equivalent of them, to the American people warning them of all the dangerous things Trump is doing. He's gonna try to create all kinds of unrest and disunity and so forth – unprecedented, no former president has ever done what Obama is likely going to do."

In an interview with NPR aired Sunday, Obama said after he leaves office, he will work on some ideas about how to build up the Democratic party.

But he also suggested in November he would have no problem speaking out about issues he cared about.

"As an American citizen who cares deeply about our country, if there are issues that have less to do with the specifics of some legislative proposal or battle, but go to core questions about our values and our ideals, and if I think that it's necessary or helpful for me to defend those ideals, then I'll examine it when it comes," Obama said during a press conference in Peru on Nov. 21.

Limbaugh said he expected Obama will waste no time blasting his successor.

"Obama's gonna do it from Washington," the radio host said. "And he's gonna do it within hours of whatever Trump does, and he's gonna do it on major cable news. And the media is gonna be 100,000 percent behind Obama. It's going to be divisive, and you just wait."

The Obamas plan to live in Washington when his presidency concludes, while their younger daughter finishes school.
