Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., are copying ideas from Hillary Clinton's failed presidential campaign with the Democratic Party's "A Better Deal" theme, according to the conservative PAC America Rising.

Schumer and Pelosi discussed "A Better Deal" in opinion pieces in The New York Times and The Washington Post, but in those pieces, they echoed Clinton proposals, said Scott Sloofman, America Rising PAC press secretary in a blog post Monday.

"Democrats are so exhausted of new ideas that Schumer and Pelosi have stooped to cherry-picking ones from Hillary Clinton's failed campaign and calling them their own. Voters will see through this, though. Just as they rejected Hillary Clinton last year, they'll reject Clinton's ideas coming from Schumer and Pelosi today," Sloofman said.

Pelosi, according to The Washington Post, called for "a national commitment to expanding apprenticeships and paid on-the-job training." Sloofman said that in 2015, Clinton did the same thing, "a new tax credit to hire and train apprentices."

"We're going to push for empowering Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices for older Americans," Schumer said, The New York Times reported.

A Clinton proposal in 2015 called for "allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices," Sloofman noted.

The America Rising press secretary also pointed out that Clinton in 2016 proposed more authority for antitrust agencies. "We are going to fight to allow regulators to break up big companies if they're hurting consumers," Schumer said, according to the Times.

According to Sloofman, Democratic leaders have not learned from Clinton's 2016 loss.

"What the Democrats' messaging relaunch demonstrates is that rather than learning from the mistakes of 2016, Schumer and Pelosi are simply doubling down on the failed Hillary Clinton playbook."

On Friday, America Rising criticized a new Democratic slogan, saying Pelosi would drag down the Democratic ticket no matter the slogan.

"The best slogan in the world can't change the simple fact that Nancy Pelosi is still running the House Democratic Caucus," the conservative PAC wrote in a blog post.
