The Judicial Crisis Network is setting up at least $10 million in advertising to put pressure on Democrats to confirm the nominee that incoming president Donald Trump puts up for the Supreme Court vacancy.

According to Politico, the group is taking aim at Democrats who will be up for reelection in 2018 in 10 states that supported the Republican president-elect.

Republicans hold 52 seats in the Senate and would need eight Democrats to break ranks in order to gain the 60-vote threshold needed to confirm a Supreme Court justice, politico reports.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has said that it's up to Republicans to provide a nominee that the Democrats would find suitable to be confirmed, Politico reports.

"We are not going to settle on a Supreme Court nominee," Schumer told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow last week. "If they don't appoint someone's who's good, we're going to oppose them tooth and nail."

Judicial Crisis Network's chief counsel Carrie Severino told Politico:

"We are preparing to launch the most robust campaign for a Supreme Court nominee in history and we will force vulnerable Senators up for re-election in 2018 like Joe Donnelly and Claire McCaskill to decide between keeping their Senate seats or following Chuck Schumer's liberal, obstructionist agenda.

"Any vulnerable senator who signs up for Schumer's obstructionist strategy will pay a heavy price in 2018. The President-elect clearly has a mandate when it comes to the Supreme Court and this effort will ensure that the will of the people prevails," Severino added.

The Judicial Crisis Network and other conservative groups will focus on Democrats such as McCaskill in Missouri, Donnelly in Indiana, as well as Sens. Heidi Heitkamp in North Dakota and Jon Tester in Montana.

"Democrats from states President-elect Trump won by double digits will feel maximum pain back home if they walk the plank with Chuck Schumer," Brian Rogers, executive director of America Rising, told Politico.

Majorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, said her group would focus on pro-life voters and lobbying senators.

"The stakes are incredibly high," she said, according to Politico.

West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin gets a pass, because he has said he was open to confirming Trump's nominee, Politico reported.
