Chelsea Clinton is leaving the door open for now at a possible run for political office — but like her mother, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, she’s offering no details about when she might announce.

Interviewed for a segment aired on NBC’s “Today” program on Monday, Clinton said: “Right now, I’m grateful to live in a city and a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president, my senators, and my representative.”

“If at some point that weren’t true and I thought I could make a meaningful and measurably greater impact, you know, I’d have to ask and answer that question.”

Clinton also commented on the speculation surrounding her mothers possible run for the White House in 2016.

“As a daughter, I very much want her to make the right choice for herself,” she said. “I know that will be the right choice for our country, and I’ll support her in whatever she chooses to do.”

Clinton has recently been working with her father, former President Bill Clinton, to promote the Clinton Global Initiative University, a nonprofit group started in 2005 that aims to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to make a difference in their communities and around the world.

She also serves as a special correspondent for NBC News.
