Chelsea Clinton’s Mother-In-Law Plans Return to Congress

Former U.S. Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky is considering a bid for Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional seat, she told a Philadelphia radio station, a move she said was supported by former President Bill Clinton.

Margolies-Mezvinsky, a Democrat and the mother-in-law of Chelsea Clinton, would be vying for the seat currently held by Rep. Allyson Schwartz who announced last week she planned to run for Governor of Pennsylvania next year.

Margolies-Mezvinsky, whose son Marc Mezvinsky married Chelsea in 2010, held the seat which covers northern Philadelphia and parts of Montgomery County, for one term in the early 1990s.

“It is premature, because we have a congressperson in office now, but it is true that I am talking about it with party leaders and family members,” she told the radio station KYW, according to CNN.

The news came just days after Chelsea refused to rule out a future run for office.
