GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina says she has no ill feelings toward a man who said he wanted to strangle her during a recent Q&A with Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

For that matter, Fiorina isn't angry at Clinton for laughing at the man's comment.

Fiorina was asked about the comment during her appearance Wednesday on Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor."

The man told Clinton he had been laid off from Hewlett-Packard while Fiorina as CEO was flying around in corporate jets.

"She says she's a great CEO. Every time I see her on TV, I want to reach through and strangle her," he said as the crowd, including Clinton, laughed.

"I can understand why someone who is laid off might feel badly about it. It was a very tough time," Fiorina told host Bill O'Reilly. "I think he has his facts wrong about the two corporate jets, but I understand that he might be frustrated by that. It was a very tough time and we had to make some tough calls to save 80,000 jobs."

She said she doesn't take umbrage with him or with Clinton, since what he was saying was clearly a common figure of speech and wasn't meant as a threat.

But she said she does take umbrage with the "clear double standard" of the mainstream media.

"If this happened with a conservative candidate the liberal media would be all over and asking to apologize and all the rest of it," she said.

O'Reilly pointed out that Fiorina had indeed been called out by the media when someone at her own event accused President Barack Obama of being a "Black Muslim."

Fiorina has called out people for being critical of Muslims at other events.
