Former Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to address a group of Democrats in New Hampshire later this month.

Biden, who served as former President Barack Obama's No. 2 man for eight years, thought about joining last year's presidential race but ultimately decided against the idea. According to The Boston Globe, he will speak at the New Hampshire Democratic Party's McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner on April 30.

"We're thrilled that former Vice President Biden is joining us to honor the first ever all-female, all-Democratic delegation at our biggest event of the year," NHDP Chairman Ray Buckley told the Globe.

Biden represented Delaware in the Senate from 1973-2009. He unsuccessfully ran for president in 1988 and 2008.

Last month, Biden said during a speech at Colgate University he believed he might have won the 2016 presidential election if he had joined the race.

"Although it would have been a very difficult primary, I think I could have won," Biden said, adding that he thought the general election would have had a similar outcome.
