Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., received negative responses when two Bible verses appeared on his Twitter account feed Tuesday morning.

The Washington Post conservative blogger Jennifer Rubin suggested Rubio had been hacked. She also called his tweets "tone deaf."

Leah McElrath of ShareBlue tweeted Rubio might be "trying to justify his own actions."

The tweets have been shared several hundred times, and both have gained between 1,600 and 1,800 likes.
