Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on Sunday worked to smooth over his issues with the Democratic National Committee, which his campaign has accused of working against him  nd for Hillary Clinton in the party's presidential race.

"Look, we have had our differences of opinions with the DNC," Sanders said Sunday on "Meet the Press."  "But at the end of the day, the DNC, Hillary Clinton, and myself, we want to defeat right wing extremism in this country. So we're trying to work out our differences of opinion."

Earlier this month, Sanders' campaign slammed the DNC after it was locked out of its own voter files when a Sanders staffer was found to have improperly looked at Clinton information when a computer glitch shared the information with the Sanders campaign.

A similar glitch earlier in October was reported by the Sanders campaign without anyone looking at Clinton's files.

But Sanders said the DNC went overboard in locking him out of his own files, since he had taken appropriate action by firing the misbehaving staffer. The next day, the DNC restored Sanders' access to his files.

Sanders told guest moderator Andrea Mitchell he expects to win in Iowa and New Hampshire, the first two states to vote, and he defended his call for rich Arab countries to take on more of the fight against the Islamic State (ISIS.)

"Saudi Arabia, Qatar are incredibly wealthy countries. and they have got to start using some of their resources to help us destroy ISIS rather than, in the case of Saudi Arabia, fighting in Yemen," Sanders said. "In the case of Qatar spending hundreds of billions of dollars in preparations for the World Cup in 2022."
