Palin: Immigration Bill 'Toothless' on Border Security

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin criticized senators who support the 1,200-page immigration-reform bill for not reading the hefty measure before voting it into law, The Washington Times reported.

"Just like they did with Obamacare, some in Congress intend to 'Pelosi' the amnesty bill," Palin said on her Facebook page, coining Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi's name as a verb.

"They'll pass it in order to find out what's in it," Palin said, referring to the former House speaker’s now-infamous statement.

Palin, the 2008 vice presidential candidate, urged supporters to contact lawmakers and oppose the bill, which comes up for a Senate vote this week, calling it "toothless" and weak on border security.

"I'm proud that our country is so desirable that it has been a melting pot, making a diverse people united as the most exceptional nation on earth for over two centuries," Palin said.

Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama warned Monday that senators have not read the bill, which does not address border security, Fox News reports.
