Washington Examiner's Freddoso: Obamacare 'Pinches' Middle Class

Tuesday, 03 Dec 2013 06:00 PM

The Affordable Care Act is based on financial assumptions that "pinch" the middle class, says David Freddoso, editor of Conservative Intelligence Briefing and a columnist at the Washington Examiner.

"One of the things Obamacare does is it assumes that if you make about just under 400 percent of the poverty level, so that's about 40-some thousand dollars per single person and up to $94,000 for a family of four," Freddoso told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Story continues below video.

"If you're making about that, then they say you should be spending about 9.5 percent of your take-home pay on health insurance, and for most of these people in the individual market, they were not spending that much and now they're going to, and they're not eligible for a dime in government subsidies until they already do."
