Washington Times Columnist: Government Shutdown 'Not a Good Strategy'

By    |   Wednesday, 25 Sep 2013 06:42 PM

Shutting down the government will not shut down the Affordable Care Act and will only hurt Republicans, according to Charles Hurt, a conservative columnist at The Washington Times.

"It's not a good strategy and a lot of these guys went a little too far in suggesting that they actually have a strategy to defund and kill Obamacare," Hurt told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Story continues below video.

"The House has passed 43 bills to kill Obamacare and every single one of them dies at the door of the Senate . . . Until the people who voted for Obamacare are punished and replaced, we will not see this bill go away.

"And suggesting any other strategies, you're either woefully mistaken or being somewhat misleading."
