Wash. Times Hurt: New ACA Extension Admission of 'Complete Failure'

Wednesday, 05 Mar 2014 07:39 PM

Washington Times columnist Charles Hurt says President Barack Obama's new tweak to the Affordable Care Act — a four-year extension for healthcare plans that face cancellation — is an "absolute admission that Obamacare is a total, complete failure."

"The entire thing is a farce … The president sold us this lemon," Hurt told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Hurt believes Obama is granting the extension through 2017 so Democrats won't be hurt in the midterm elections and in the 2016 presidential election.

"They have decided that their reelections are more important than our health … Our lives are not as important as their reelection and so they have gone and made this, extended this into 2017 so that everybody can get safely reelected — they hope," he said.

"And we will be stuck with these terrible, terrible plans that they say are hurting us.

"How about just repeal the whole law forever and let us go back to having our plans that we had, that we've been with, that we are discovering weren't so bad and aren't nearly as bad as these monsters that people have discovered is Obamacare."
