Ex-NYC Firefighter: Another Attack on US Soil Is Coming

Wednesday, 10 Sep 2014 06:20 PM

Tim Brown, a former New York City firefighter who worked with rescue crews amid the rubble of the World Trade Center after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, fears another assault on U.S. soil is imminent.

"I do believe we will get hit again," he told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV on Wednesday.

"I believe it's sooner than later," Brown said on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the attacks.

"As the intelligence agencies are saying . . . the chatter is similar or even worse in the terrorist area than it was before Sept 11. So, we're just kind of waiting for it to happen."

Brown, who was detailed to the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management, has co-founded a group called The Bravest.

The group is dedicated to the 343 active and three retired firefighters who lost their lives and "redefined the word 'hero,'" says its website, Thebravest.org.

The group, in a message issued this week, said:

"Thirteen years have passed. In our hearts it still seems like yesterday . . . We must always remember, always keep those that we lost, in our hearts and in our minds.

"God Bless our heroes and all who have suffered as a result of the cowardly acts perpetrated upon our loved ones. We will continue to remember, to mourn, but mostly to honor our fallen."

Brown said it is important to follow the terrorists wherever they are and destroy them for the sake of the nation's safety and freedom, although he worries about whether that is being done.

"I am someone that believes we take the fight to the bad guy, and I'm not sure that this country right now is doing that. In fact, I'm sure this country is not doing that, and this is what led to Sept. 11, 2001, because we didn't go get them . . . We weren't on the offense.

"Again we're on the defense here and we're going to pay for that, and unfortunately, we're going to pay for it right here in New York."
