Trump Aide Gorka: North Korea at 'Dead End' of Threats

By    |   Monday, 07 Aug 2017 05:16 PM

North Korea has reached a "dead end" with its bullying nuclear threats and must realize the rest of the world has had enough of it, Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Donald Trump, told Newsmax TV on Monday.

"The ball is in North Korea's court," Gorka said to Rita Cosby, guest host of Newsmax’s "The Todd Schnitt Show."

"They keep saying they're doing what they're doing for their national security when the reality is every one of these provocations undermine their security as much as anybody else's.

"So the fact is they need to look in the mirror and understand that they have painted themselves into a corner and it is a dead end."

Early Monday, North Korea vowed to launch "thousands-fold" revenge against the U.S. after the U.N. imposed huge financial sanctions as punishment for recent intercontinental ballistic missile tests.

"We're used to it. We're used to this nation that is more Stalinist than Josef Stalin, the Soviet Union ever was. But we're saddened," Gorka told Cosby.

"Think about the significance of this. This is the most significant, largest sanctions package the international community has ever levied against North Korea.... [It] sends a very clear message, even Russia, even China, we have had enough. You are a menace and you are a great threat to international security."

Gorka, a counterinsurgency and counterterrorism expert and the author of "Defeating Jihad: The Winnable War," added: "Now it is up to Pyongyang to send a clear message that they understand they are going to stand down from their provocation and their escalatory behavior."
