Pete Hoekstra: Hillary Doesn't Understand 'How Vulnerable the Digital World Is'

By    |   Friday, 29 Jul 2016 10:43 PM

News of a hack in Hillary Clinton's campaign data — possibly by Russia — makes clear that the Democratic presidential nominee and her team "don't understand how vulnerable the digital world is," former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Pete Hoekstra told Newsmax TV on Friday.

"She didn't recognize this when she was secretary of state and put thousands of emails at risk," Hoekstra, a former Michigan Republican, told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "The DNC didn't recognize that when they allowed their systems to not have the proper security and to be hacked in.

"Then, when the FBI comes to her campaign and says, 'Hey, you may be hacked and we're here to help you protect your systems,' and they turn it down, she doesn't recognize this.

"She's been reckless with America's secrets," Hoekstra said. "The DNC has been reckless with their information — and now she demonstrates one more time that she's been reckless with the information that's on her campaign.

"It's kind of scary that one of these days she would like to be commander-in-chief."
