Nicolle Wallace: Clintons Are 'Political Version of the Kardashians'

Bill and Hillary Clinton are the political equivalent of the Kardashians — because they're impossible not to gawk at, Nicolle Wallace, co-host of ABC's "The View and author of the new book "Madam President: A Novel," tells Newsmax TV.

Wallace said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" that revelations about questionable donations to the non-profit Clinton Foundation in Peter Schweitzer's book, "Clinton Cash," are "such an indictment of the way they operate."

"I have always been fascinated with the Clintons. They're like the political version of the Kardashians. You know it's not good for you, but you can't look away, so I have always followed them. This is how they operate," Wallace said.

She added she has never been shocked at any scandals involving the Clintons, including the disclosure that Hillary, now top contender for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, used a personal email account and server for government business as secretary of state.

"She took liberties that the president doesn't take, keeping her emails on a personal server in her house. I didn't think it was surprising...." Wallace told Steve Malzberg.

Wallace, who was White House communications director for President George W. Bush, said her new novel, published by Atria/Emily Bestler Books, which concerns the nation's first female president, is not about Clinton.

Those people in the media who ask me, oh how timely, Madam President and Hillary. I say no, no, no — she's a Republican, folks, the former California governor," Wallace said.

In the fast-paced book, Charlotte Kramer, the forty-fifth President of the United States, does the unprecedented by allowing a network news team to document a day in her life and that of her most senior staff. But as cameras roll, five major attacks are leveled on U.S. soil. She, her secretary of defense and press secretary, also female, must jump to action to reassure the nation. But all three hide personal and professional secrets that could rock the West Wing to its very foundations.
