LIGNET'S Chang: US, China Won't Reach Major Deal at Summit

Don't expect any major deals to come out of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Bejing this week, says lawyer Gordon Chang, a contributor to the global forecasting and intelligence website LIGNET.

"On Wednesday President [Barack] Obama sits down with Chinese President Xi Jinping for a one-on-one," Chang said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"There's not going to be too much in the way of deliverables, especially because these meetings have now become these over-orchestrated events.

"People are looking for the United States . . . to define the key to better relations with China, which is unrealistic because China right now, for many reasons — political distress in Beijing as well as a crumbling economy — is not really able to have good relations with the United States and with most other nations."
