Larry Klayman: Brzezinski's 'Little Boy' Crack Demeans Rubio

Wednesday, 15 Apr 2015 04:47 PM

Mika Brzezinski's remark that Marco Rubio is a "little boy" next to Hillary Clinton in a presidential matchup is "outrageous" and "inappropriate," says Larry Klayman, founder of the government watchdog Freedom Watch.

"It's very demeaning, obviously," Klayman said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"Everything's turned upside down in our political world these days. You can't speak out for fear of being called a racist or a sexist, but when the left does it it's acceptable …"

Rubio, 43, who announced on Monday that he is seeking the GOP presidential nomination, was the subject of discussion on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

"She eats him for lunch," co-host Brzezinski said of a potential matchup between the Florida senator and the former secretary of state. "Maybe this is my ideology speaking, but I'm sorry, that's a little boy and that's an experienced, accomplished woman that's been elected to the Senate twice, who's served as first lady, who's served as secretary of state."

"That was outrageous, it's inappropriate, and clearly Marco Rubio is not a little boy. I think he's a year older than John Kennedy was when he was elected," Klayman told Steve Malzberg.

Klayman, a former federal prosecutor, doesn't expect Republicans to press too hard on Clinton over the 2012 Benghazi attacks and her use of a private email account for government business.

"They'll never do it directly, the Republicans. You can see [it in] Rubio's speech. 'She's a candidate of yesterday.' Well what does that mean? Al Capone yesterday or does it mean just yesterday?" Klayman said.

"The reality is the Republicans don't want to face up to the issue and they never have. When I ran Judicial Watch, we did the dirty work with regard to Clinton back in the 1990s.

"No one wanted to sully their hands on the Republican side of it and now today, none of the Republican candidates or for that matter Trey Gowdy of the Government Oversight and Reform Committee are pushing back hard against Hillary."

Klayman said Republicans are leaving it to media outlets such as Newsmax and Fox News to bring up the scandals swirling around Clinton.
