Trump Spokesperson Pierson: Everyone But Bush, Graham Considered for VP

Donald Trump will be considering every Republican who ran for president this year as a possible running mate, with the exception of two, his national spokesperson Katrina Pierson tells Newsmax TV.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham should not be expecting a call from Trump, Pierson said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

Neither Bush nor Graham is on board with Trump's vision for America, Pierson said, adding that Bush, early on considered the front-runner and the establishment pick, spend hundreds of millions of dollars attacking Trump.

"Jeb Bush is not on board with Donald Trump's vision to make America great again with regard to foreign policy or even illegal immigration for that matter, which is why he's not an option," she said.

Graham, similarly, is not on board with Trump's foreign policy, Pierson said, "and the attacks against Donald Trump were just absurd, particularly in South Carolina."

But Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, whom Trump dubbed "Little Marco" late in the campaign, as well as Carly Fiorina, who already has served as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's running mate, are both under consideration.

"Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and Mr. Trump is going to have to balance that out with what he thinks is best as a running mate," Pierson said. "He has mentioned that he would prefer someone that's in the political field that has been elected in office before, someone that could help with legislation, but at the end of the day it's going to have to be the message. It's got to be somebody that believes in Donald Trump's message, and he's going to have to sort that out very carefully."
