Climate Expert: Obama's Emissions Order Won't Impact Climate

By    |   Friday, 20 Mar 2015 10:57 AM

An executive order signed by President Barack Obama requiring the government to cut its greenhouse gas emissions nearly in half over the next decade will have no effect on the climate, according to climate expert John Casey, author of "Dark Winter: How the Sun Is Causing a 30-Year Cold Spell.”

During an appearance Friday on Newsmax TV’s "America’s Forum, Casey said reliable science has shown that emissions have no bearing on global temperatures.

"The sun is the primary driver of climate change on earth," he said, and mankind plays a "very small, almost insignificant role."

"All of the science that we have, the best science, the best climate models and the best climate theory, now tell us that we have entered a new era for climate on the planet that will bring record cold for the next 30 years and will be back to where we were 200 years ago in terms of global temperature and sea level by the 2030s. Unfortunately, we're going to see a lot of collateral ill effects like crop damage, civil strife and political upheaval that always followed these cold eras."

In signing the executive order, which only applies to the federal government not the rest of the U.S. economy, Casey said Obama is attempting to "put feather in his legacy cap by telling the world he's done everything he can to unite the world to fight global warming."

"There's been no global warming for 18 years, but the president still wants to fight something that doesn't exist," said, who said he hopes the Republican-controlled Congress makes gains in stopping the money being wasted on the "man-made global warming myth."

Efforts to curb greenhouse gas emissions have mostly been a failure, according to Casey.

"We know after 30 years of research and more than $30 billion spent here in the U.S. that the climate is almost indifferent to how much CO2 there is," he said.
