Dick Morris: Joe Biden Could Enter Race

Vice President Joe Biden may make a surprise eleventh-hour entry into the 2016 presidential race as Hillary Clinton's poll numbers continue to plummet, veteran political analyst Dick Morris tells Newsmax TV.

"There's a real chance. We have to focus on the incredible fact that … Hillary has fallen apart among female voters over the last three weeks," Morris said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"Among all voters, she used to be beating [Donald] Trump by 10 points, now she's losing to him by three. [Sen. Ted] Cruz used to be beating her by two points, now he's beating her by nine. [Sen. Marco] Rubio used to be beating her by three, now he's beating her by 10.

"And the entire change has been among women voters. No men voters."

Morris, who served as an adviser to President Bill Clinton and is a Newsmax contributor, said Hillary Clinton has dropped an average of 13 points among women in the last three weeks.

"That is largely due to Bill Clinton and to all the publicity and expose of his sexual activities and of her efforts to cover them up and to enable them.

"If [Sen.] Bernie Sanders [of Vermont] beats her in Iowa and New Hampshire, which I think he will, that will show she's in very tough shape politically and … there might be a lot of pressure for someone else to get into the race, like Biden."

In addition, an FBI investigation into the former secretary of state's use of a private email server for government business could end up with an indictment, Morris believes.

"The indictment would knock her out of the race and free her delegates who are already on the ballot to commit to Biden and run as Biden delegates. You could still see that happen over the course of the next four to six weeks."

Asked about Donald Trump's crack that he hopes to run against Sanders, Morris said:

"Anybody on Earth can defeat Bernie Sanders, so that's probably what Donald's talking about. But the Democrats know that anybody can beat Sanders.

"So if Hillary is showing signs that she can't beat Sanders, and that she's in trouble with the Justice Department and that Obama is not supporting her and that women are running away from her, that all increases the pressure on Biden."

Morris is the author of "Power Grab: Obama's Dangerous Plan for a One-Party Nation," written with Eileen McGann and published by Humanix Books.
