Jeb: 'If Hillary Broke the Law, She Should Be Prosecuted'

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush told Newsmax TV Tuesday that he doubted whether Hillary Clinton would be indicted in the email scandal because "it's the most politicized attorney general and Department of Justice in a long while.

"I have doubts that they will do the right thing," Bush, who governed Florida from 1999 to 2007, told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "I think the process should go forward, but at a minimum she is not telling the truth.

"She has withheld the truth from the American people."

Bush said that the FBI investigation should run its course.

"If she did break the law, of course, she should be prosecuted," he told Hayworth. "I don't know if she's broken the law.

"What I do know is that she is untrustworthy. She hasn't told the truth. That lack of trust is so important, because people don't believe their government works for them anymore."

Regardless of the outcome of the inquiry, however, "Hillary Clinton is going to be tough to beat," Bush told Hayworth. "We need someone with a proven record and detailed plans to restore our greatness through conservative principles — and I think I'm that guy."
