Follow retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson during his first trip to Israel in a special Easter weekend broadcast of "The RightSide with Armstrong Williams: A Recent Time in Israel" on Newsmax TV.

The insightful 30-minute program airs on Saturday at 5:30 pm and on Easter Sunday at 9:30 am and 6 pm (all times are ET).

During his week-long trip, Carson visited Israel's most holy sites, including the Western Wall in Jerusalem. He walked through the terror tunnels, used by Israel's enemies. And he got a "valuable" perspective on Israel after a helicopter tour there.

"Seeing how very close the enemies of Israel are… and then being able to go down into the tunnels and see the potential they provided for the enemies to get right into the territories… to wreak havoc," he says.

Carson is a great American success story, rising from a single-parent upbringing in Detroit to become the world's foremost physicians and scientists.

He was the director of pediatric neurosurgery at the Children’s Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital for 29 years. In 2008, President George W. Bush awarded Carson the Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor.

Carson's speech promoting conservative ideals at the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast, with President Obama in attendance, vaulted him into the political spotlight.

Now, Carson is considering a run for the White House and his December 2014 "fact-finding" trip to Israel chronicled in this fascinating TV special will "impact significantly" his decision. He is expect to announce his decision in May.

Carson says he was "inspired" by the people and history of the Jewish state.
"I am moved by the fact … they believe in their fellow man and they say repeatedly that a lot of the people in these countries around them, countries that are hostile, the people in them are not hostile, are not bad people," Carson says during the trip.

Carson visited Israel with wife Candy, top adviser Terry Giles and TV and radio host and Newsmax contributor Armstrong Williams.

The program adds to the diverse programing featured on Newsmax TV, the new lifestyle, news, and information channel.
