Grover Norquist: Hillary Stance on Fracking 'Insults' Key Swing States

Hillary Clinton's "understanding of politics is 30 years old" — and her stance against fracking has "insulted" three swing states, Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist told Newsmax TV on Friday.

"Hillary Clinton and the Democrats knew for years that it was easy to spit at the energy industry," because it was based out of such Republican states as Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Alaska, Norquist told "The Hard Line" host Ed Berliner. "So, Hillary continues to be insulting."

He noted Clinton's call to regulate fracking during Sunday's Democratic debate at the University of Michigan.

"Fracking allows people to look for oil and natural gas in Ohio and Pennsylvania," Norquist told Berliner. "There are a couple hundred thousand jobs in Pennsylvania that fracking made possible, about 100,000 in Ohio — and maybe 40 to 50,000 in Colorado.

"She just insulted three swing states — the major issues that's really helping Ohio and Pennsylvania — thinking she was insulting people from Texas and Oklahoma.

"People learn their politics at an early age," he said. "It's OK to trash energy workers, like coal miners and oil and natural-gas people."
