PJ Media Editor: Powell Should Have Been Ebola Czar

President Barack Obama should have tapped retired four-star Gen. Colin Powell as the nation's new "Ebola czar" instead of Democratic political operative Ron Klain, says Bryan Preston, an editor-at-large at the conservative news group PJ Media.

"I've criticized Gen. Powell over the last few years because he's been so close to Obama," Preston said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"[But] there's no question though that Gen. Powell is an actual leader who knows how to marshal great masses of force and great masses of humanity to do big things.

"And he comes across … as less partisan, in fact, not very partisan at all. And you put him up against Ron Klain … known for being part of the stimulus in the Obama administration, which most people agree now was partisan hackery at its most expensive."
