Col. Tom Manion: Book 'Brothers Forever' About Friendship, Combat

Monday, 10 Nov 2014 01:00 PM

The new book "Brothers Forever: The Enduring Bond Between a Marine and a Navy SEAL that Transcended Their Ultimate Sacrifice," is not just about combat, but also about the friendship between two military men who have been buried side-by-side in Arlington National Cemetery, its writer, Col. Tom Manion, the father of one of the fallen men, told Newsmax TV Monday.

The friends, U.S. Marine Corps First Lt. Travis Manion, and U.S. Navy SEAL Lt. Brendan Looney, were killed three years apart, with one dying in Iraq and the other in Afghanistan. They had been best friends since their days as roommates at the U.S. Naval Academy, Manion's father said on "America's Forum," and it was "certainly good to get it down on paper, and to talk to other Americans about what the sacrifices are all about."
