The Iran nuclear-arms deal is "an absolute disgrace to humanity" and a "complete cave-in" to terrorists, says Ben Stein, the film actor, author, former speechwriter for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

"This is the most disgraceful treaty, deal, accord, whatever you want to call it that any American president has ever entered into with any foreign power," Stein said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"It is an absolute disgrace to humanity. This opens the floodgates for an Iranian bomb … It's a complete cave in to [what] was until very recently called by the U.S. government, the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism."

Asked about former Arkansas governor and GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee's claim that the Iran deal placed Israel at "the door of the oven," Stein said of the controversial Holocaust analogy:

"I wouldn't have said it that way but I will say that no one has ever opened the door to more harm to the Jewish people in the history of the world than Mr. [John] Kerry … and Mr. [Barack] Obama.

"There's some kind of deep-seeded psychological drama being played out here for them to have hurt Israel this much."

Stein, author of Newsmax Magazine's "Dreemz" column, said the perils of the deal, in which Iran's nuclear capability is lessened in exchange for billions of dollars in economic sanctions being lifted, are a "very serious dilemma."

"My own feeling is if you have a situation in which you can have a second Holocaust in an afternoon, which is what the ayatollahs [in Iran] have promised, you consider the military option," Stein said.

"You give very serious thought to just bombing the hell out of all those research and bombing facilities. You don't want to bomb the Iranian people, they're fine people and they're great people, but they know where the reactors are, they know where the centrifuges are. We have enough bombs and rockets to hit them.

"It just is amazing to me that Mr. Obama and Mr. Kerry are willing to gamble on the future of a country like Israel, which has stood by us, and we've stood by them, in so many instances. They're the only ally we have which is actually ready to fight and we are throwing them under the bus."

Stein has appeared in movies such as "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Honeymoon in Vegas" and "Dennis the Menace." Ironically, his comments come a day after his "Dennis the Menace" co-star Natasha Lyonne appeared in a video with several other Hollywood stars urging Americans to support the Iran deal.
