Author: Fossil Fuel Use Necessary for Planet's Survival

The use of fossil fuel is necessary for the survival of the planet, says Alex Epstein, founder and president of the Center for Industrial Progress and author of the new book, "The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels," published by Portfolio Hardcover.

"In my research for the book, it's just so overwhelming that if you want billions of people to survive, flourish, pursue happiness they absolutely need to be free to use fossil fuel energy to improve their lives," Epstein said in a recent interview on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Solar energy doesn't always work — and that can create life-or-death dramas in places like hospitals, according to Epstein.

"[When] they can't run an incubator, they can't run any instruments … that's sending some of them to death," he said.
