Journalist: Hidden 28 Pages of 9/11 Report May Show Saudi Link

Two presidents have fought every congressional effort to declassify 28 pages of a 9/11 intelligence report because they are likely to reveal the "embarrassing" truth of a Saudi connection to the attacks, a national security journalist told Newsmax TV on Friday.

"The conspiracy theorists might actually be right on this one," Blue Force Tracker assistant editor James LaPorta, a former U.S. Marine intelligence chief and infantry squad leader, told "MidPoint" host Ed Berliner.

LaPorta said that speculation about the withheld information centers on whether the government of Saudi Arabia assisted the 9/11 hijackers in any way.

He said the 28 pages could prove embarrassing to Presidents Bush and Obama, since Saudi Arabia is officially a U.S. ally in the Middle East, but should be released to give Americans "the full story" behind the catastrophic attacks.

A handful of House and Senate members who have read the classified pages, but are forbidden to discuss them, want the material made public.

Their efforts could result in the full report's release "by the end of the year … if not sooner," said LaPorta.
