A vast array of furniture, art, books, jewelry and other personal items from the Bel Air, California estate of former President Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy is set to be auctioned off.

The New York Post reports that the Sept. 21-22 online auction being run by Christie’s auction house is expected to bring in at least $2 million. Proceeds will benefit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute.

The Reagan collection "offers unprecedented insight" into the private lives of the couple, said Brook Hazelton, president of Christie's Americas.

"Each object offers a 'through the keyhole' experience revealing as-yet untold stories of two of the 20th century's most celebrated public figures," the newspaper quotes him as saying.

The Post said the sale will be conducted as a live auction in New York, as well as online.

The collection also includes sculptures and drawings from the couple’s home, as well as American, English and Chinese furnishings, the newspaper reported.

Individual items are expected to range from $1,000 to $50,000 each.

Christie's said more details on the items will be announced in the coming weeks. The full catalogue of the collection will be available in late summer.

Reagan was elected the 40th president in 1980 and died in 2004. Nancy Reagan died this year
